Top Six Ways To Reduce Your Cancer Risk

Wouldn’t it be great if you had a magic bullet that stopped your risk of cancer in its tracks? Unfortunately, there is no such thing, but researchers are learning more and more each day. The American Institute for Cancer Prevention and World Cancer Research Fund recently released a report with recommendations for cancer prevention. See if you can adopt these six lifestyle changes that may help reduce your risk of cancer.

  1. Be physically active for at least 30 minutes every day.
  2. Eat a wide variety of veggies, fruits, whole grains and legumes such as beans.
  3. Avoid sugary drinks.
  4. Limit consumption of red meats and avoid processed meats.
  5. Limit consumption of salty foods.
  6. If consumed at all, limit daily alcoholic drinks to two for men and one for women.

The report also noted that after treatment, cancer survivors should follow their doctors’ recommendations for cancer prevention.
