7 Habits That Help Us Stay Young

None of us are getting any younger.

As we age, a great many things happen in our bodies. Basically, things begin to wear out. We start to feel tired — a lot.

Once you get over 40, your vitality begins to decline. Some days, you don’t even feel like getting out of bed.

But there are a few things we can all do to help us stay young. Try these and see if you start feeling a little younger.

1. Develop healthy sleep habits

It’s no secret that a good night’s sleep will make us feel better. We can think clearly and get things done after a sound night’s rest. There are some all-natural ways to manage a good night’s rest such as Chamomile tea. It is caffeine-free and contains sleep-inducing ingredients. Green tea makes you feel calm at bedtime.

2. Walk each day

Learn to take daily walks. Walking helps normalize heart rate and blood pressure. It gets the blood pumping through our veins. Walking relaxes you and can improve your mood.

3. Live clean

Stay away from tobacco and tobacco related products. Even vaping has been shown to be bad for your lungs. Develop healthy habits instead.

4. Eat your vegetables

Your mother was right about eating your vegetables. Try to get several green leafy vegetables in each week, along with carrots, squash, tomatoes, onions and garlic. Healthy foods help you sleep better and live longer.

5. Stay hydrated

Drink plenty of water each day. Coffee and tea are not the same as water. Use a filter to purify tap water. Some bottled water is simply tap water from some other town. It must say “spring” or “filtered” but “distilled” is the most pure water you can drink.

6. Limit your alcohol intake

Be aware of your drinking habits each week. Remember that the accumulative effect of alcohol can include interfering with blood sugar, damaging memory, weakening your immune and reproductive system.

7. Learn something new each day

Keep your brain and memory working well by learning something new every day. Lifelong learning is a way to stay current. It deepens our character. Learning makes us more confident and gives us a wide range of perspectives.

Are you feeling old lately?

After an individual turns 40, many things are going on inside their bodies. There’s a decrease in cellular energy. The mitochondria that generate most of the body’s chemical energy begin to decline. Now the body no longer has the energy necessary to power all the biochemical reactions. The immune system can weaken leaving one open to bacteria and viruses.
